I am a mom. I am a friend. I am a small business owner. I am a homeschooler. I own a Homeschool business that makes me a resource and friend to other homeschooling moms :)
I honestly believe that everything happens for a reason. I started this homeschool journey several years ago. I have two children with special needs that were getting passed through the public schools and labeled as just another statistic. I knew I had to do something, and that's where my homeschool journey began. Last year, I started a Blended Learning Center for Homeschool Families because I saw a need.Parents want to homeschool but don't know how to get started, or sometimes they aren't able to because of work/finances. At this facility I offer Memberships that include educational counseling for homeschool families, blended classes for online homeschoolers, Drop Off Days, Homeschool Socials, Dances/Proms and even sports for our members. And this coming school year (2020/21) we are listed as a 3rd Option Accountability Association with the SC Department of Education. So, in other words, I eat, sleep and breathe homeschool :)
In the last few weeks, something happened that I never imagined. The entire USA is now homeschooling their children!!! And while the circumstances of this are challenging and scary, I am excited to be able to offer help to those that are facing this reality! I have had so many people reach out to me about tips, tricks, advice on how to homeschool and I thought that a blog would be the best way to share my experiences and resources to everyone in one spot and for FREE. I want to help as many families as I can during this uncertain and stressful time.
This first blog is just an introduction to me :) Mrs. Monica, as my GO Students call me.
Now, tell me a little about you and your student! And ask me questions that you have, or subjects that you would like for me to touch on and I would be happy to write a blog that will answer your questions and give you ideas AND help others that may have the same concerns as you! So, this is a judgement free zone! I promise not to judge or laugh......I have been in the exact same shoes that you are walking in at this moment! We are ALL in this together!!
